Pre-Mania Update!

So the whole "this is going to be the banner year for the blog!" thing isn't really feasible at least until my living situation is fixated as I plan to move to Boston in the fall with my girlfriend/future fiance. I'll definitely do a Wrestlemania review for old times sake, but don't expect anything in the way of reviews for awhile, atleast until the summer. I will however still continue to DVR all of the WWE, TNA, and ROH programming and I promise to keep up to date with ratings for both TV shows and PPVs going forward. Here's a massive update of ratings of stuff I've watched in the last few weeks. It's a great time to be a wrestling fan, innit?

Phew! Been a hell of a few months, hasn't it? I haven't been this happy with the WWE's product since I was a kid during the Attitude Era. Could a new neo-Attitude Era be on the cusp? Who knows! Until Wrestlemania-time, I'm your most humble wrestling journalist/reviewer/blogger/radical in arms signing off and saying good night and good luck!

Always awesome to hear from you man! Cant wait for your Mania review! I just want to point out that you have Luther Reigns name instead of Roman Reigns on the 2/17/13 six man tag match, but I guess there technically the same person :P

Thanks for the kind words and correction on the typo Tom! Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know some people are still checking out this little blog of mine after so much inactivity. Thanks for your support and I'll try to make my 'Mania review one of my best yet!

Salutations! -- X

I definitely agree with the rating of the John Cena vs CM Punk match. I am an avid wrestling fan myself, and as of right now, that match has definitely set the bar for all wrestling promotions to top.

In your opinion, what do think about the build of all of the storylines leading to WM 29

Hey Dennis! Glad to hear you shared my love for that Cena/Punk match, those two have shown before that they have just uncanny chemistry together and the results are magic, they play off each other perfectly and are such polar opposites. I wouldn't quite put it at the level of the Money in the Bank match Punk had with Cena back in 2011 when all this "pipebomb" business started, but it was still just a textbook example of everything there is to love about the art of pro wrestling. Great stuff that will definitely be remembered down the line and on some DVD sets. As far as the build for the storylines for Mania, I can definitely see where people think it's been very lackluster and in a sense it definitely has, but with Wrestlemania in this day and age I feel like you don't even need very much build beyond the staple of the extravaganza and the epic match ups they've booked these last few years are a true testament to how far the WWE has come since the PG days.

X, my man! jmt225 here. We miss you over at WZ but it's GREAT to see you back doing the reviewing/ratings things.

Anyways, good stuff here. I'm just baffled at the Punk/Rock ratings. I DESPISED their match at Rumble, like downright hated it. I thought the entire thing was sloppy and I couldn't have been more disgusted with the ending. However, I was very pleased with the Elimination Chamber match. I think that went a lot more smoothly than the Rumble one, and the ending was much more satisfying.

Besides that, right on. I agree with your stance on WWE's product too. I haven't enjoyed the last 2 Raws, but I got to say this last year and a half or so has been the best WWE's been since like 2006. I'm very glad they're finally getting their shit together. I think it's only going to get better after 'Mania. The build thus far hasn't been very good IMO but I still expect a great show regardless and I'm positive Extreme Rules will kick ass as well.

Hi! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing
several weeks of hard work due to no back up.

Do you have any methods to protect against hackers?

Hey X,

Good to see you're still around. WZ isn't quite the same without you.

Also, remember how I responded to dipping my toe in the indie waters a while back? I'm giving it another go, with a larger sample size (sort of). I just ordered 3 PWG DVDs for $15 (which is a bargain in my book) namely Seven, Eight, and Death to all but Metal. I'll be watching them and reviewing them at some point in May/June (I have exams before then). I'm going in with an open mind and want to be impressed (or at the very least, entertained) by the shows. Hopefully, PWG can deliver. If not, I'm sure every indie fan on the board will have a good reason to yell at me again and I can honestly say that I gave indie wrestling a good shot.

Have you been following the new NXT at all? Solid as hell wrestling programming, it's basically FCW but with far better presentation (only drawback are the Raw recaps and commentary). If you haven't been, you should. A couple of weeks ago Kassius Ohno (Chris Hero, which I assume you knew) wrestled William Regal. Gabriel's also been having a great series of matches with Leo Kruger. Like I say, if you aren't watching, you should be.

Good luck with the move man. Hope you, and your loved ones are doing well too.
